From a Small Start to Big Things: The R D Upholstery Story
When R D Upholstery opened its doors back in June 2023, it was just one person, a passion for upholstery, and a whole lot of determination. Fast forward to today, and I'm proud to say that passion has turned into a business that’s really finding its feet.
How It All Started
I started R D Upholstery with a simple idea: give tired, worn-out furniture a new lease of life. Whether it was a beloved family armchair falling apart at the seams or a sofa that just needed a fresh look, I wanted to be the person who could bring it back to life. Properly, carefully, and with real craftsmanship.
Since then, I've worked on everything from full bespoke upholstery projects to quick repairs that save a much-loved piece from the skip. Every job has taught me something, and every customer has helped me grow into the business it is today.
What We Do
At our core, R D Upholstery offers three main services:
• Reupholstery — breathing new life into your existing furniture with fresh materials, fabric and finish.
• Bespoke upholstery — creating custom pieces built exactly to your taste and space.
• Repairs — fixing the wear and tear so you don’t have to say goodbye to a piece you love.
What’s Next for R D Upholstery
Although the current heat has been causing delays and problems with workshop progress, I'm not slowing down the business. Over the coming months, I am excited to be broadening our services and launching brand-new made-to-order products.
I also have an exciting premises update. As the business grows, we want a space that grows with it — somewhere that lets us take on more projects, showcase our work in a better light, and give every customer an even better experience.
